One Year In: My Journey at Bird Bolt Law
A year ago, I walked into Bird Bolt Law not knowing fully what to expect; it was a new firm, and I was just hoping to find a workplace where I could grow, contribute, and feel part of something bigger. I had a lot of respect for Nicole from our previous work together, and I wanted to join her in her efforts to create a different law firm environment where people were our first priority—not just our clients, but also our team. One year later, I can say with certainty: I found all that and so much more.
From day one, the sense of team here felt different. It’s not just lip service—it's a daily practice. Decisions are made together, ideas are heard (and valued), and feedback isn’t something to brace for, but something that helps you rise. That kind of collaborative culture is rare—and it’s a big part of what makes working here feel refreshing.
I’ve also seen firsthand what it means to be supported—not just professionally, but personally. This past year brought some tough personal moments, and Nicole showed up with the kind of leadership that can’t be taught. She held space, asked the right questions, and made it clear that I wasn’t alone. That’s something I’ll never forget.
There’s a deep satisfaction in knowing your work makes a difference. At Bird Bolt, I’ve had that feeling over and over again. Whether it’s in the details of a case or how we show up for our clients, it’s the kind of environment that makes you want to bring your best—because you know it matters.
And the best part? I’m just getting started. The potential for growth here is real. I’ve felt stretched, challenged, and encouraged in all the best ways. I can’t wait to see what year two holds.
To my incredible teammates at Bird Bolt Law—thank you for making this a place where people thrive, not just survive.
